Sports at Wickersley Northfield

At Wickersley Northfield we provide a wide range of different sporting opportunities for our children, from competing against their personal best results to competing at local and regional finals.

We have before and after school clubs run by Live and Learn, providing children with access to a range of different sports and activities.

We have our activity track where KS1 children complete the daily mile in an afternoon and KS2 children can use it during their playtimes.

This year we have been awarded the Silver School Games Award.

Intra-School Competitive Sport

Level 0 Competitions

This year all children in KS2 are going to be competing in a level 0 competition (aiming to beat their own personal bests).  Children will be completing a timed mile run around our running track each half term and recording their personal times on their own record cards, aiming to improve their time each run.

Level 1 Competitions

Each half term every child in KS2 will have the opportunity to take part in a competitive sporting event.  Working within their class or year group there will be a competition (round robin type of event) based on the sport they have been learning and the skills they have been developing.

Live and Learn Sports

Live and Learn offer various before and after school sports clubs for all children from EYFS to Y6.  Have a look at their timetable for the clubs on offer this half term.
